Glenwood Springs to Montrose

Early morning trip to Maroon Bell to capture the sunrise in the reflective lake postponed due to heavy rain.

Headed up last Aspen to Independence Pass to see the fall colours and take some streaky tree photos.Cold and wet.

Got to Maroon Bell at about midday and managed 5 minutes of photos before it started raining again. It was very misty with snow on the peaks but the reflection was still ok. Despite lots of warning notices still no bears.

Disappointed with the weather here as this is something of an iconic location in the US and made famous by Ansel Adams. http://www.anseladams.com/n-rare-form-maroon-bells-ansel-adams-original-photograph/

Afternoon was spent heading south through The White River NP to Montrose with a couple of quick stops for the fall leaves.D75_8722 D71_6936 D71_6575 D71_6318 D71_6316
